Hey, Fashionista babes! My name is Sarah Middleton, and I am a senior at the Maryland Institute College of Art pursuing a B.A. in fine arts and concentrating in experimental fashion. I spent this past summer living in Brooklyn, NY working for Free People and a cool, local gallery. Now, I’m back in Baltimore and ready to get into the groove of things!
When I’m not sewing or sculpting, you can usually find me playing my baby blue electric guitar (which is my prized possession) or listening to classic rock in my apartment. Right now, I am obsessed with Bill Withers or pretty much anything with a funky rhythm. I love road trips and am hopefully heading out to the West Coast this fall to check out the Nevada desert, Big Sur, San Francisco, Seattle and Portland! Hopefully, I will be thrifting, camping and meeting all sort of amazing, stylish people along the way!
While I have a closet full of fur coats and funky vintage pieces, I usually stick to high-waisted, distressed blue jeans and a cool vintage T-shirt. This one is a 1986 Denver Broncos Super Bowl Champions T-shirt that I scooped up at a yard sale for a dollar this summer! Although I tend to lean towards the more casual side of things, I always like to keep it interesting. This red racecar jacket is one of my favorite pieces and makes even the most simple outfits interesting. One way to dress up this look while keeping it low key is to wear an embroidered bomber jacket. They’re super trendy and really make you stand out. I added these vintage, blue chunky heels to dress up an otherwise boyish look and add a bit of girly flair. Finally, I have my trusty yellow bag that I bring literally everywhere and my favorite tiger pin! (I am OBSESSED with tigers right now!)
I’m so excited to be back here at CollegeFashionista, and I can’t wait to see what the semester has for us.
