Salut, my fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Sarah, and I am enthralled to be reporting for CollegeFashionista this summer! A rising senior at the University of Missouri-Columbia, I am currently residing in my hometown of St. Louis. I love this city, and I cannot wait to share the sartorial greatness this city has to offer!
Fashion has always been my first love. It wasn’t until about the seventh grade that I discovered a passion for writing, as well. Ever since then, I’ve devoured through stacks of Vogue and Harper’s, tactfully assessing each editorial spread and cutting out my favorite pages to assemble collages. With a desire to combine both of my passions, I am pursuing a degree in textile and apparel management, with a minor in journalism. A summer internship with CollegeFashionista is the perfect way to put my passions into practice!
My ensemble for this post was inspired by my excitement for a long, hot summer. I wanted to stick to a classic, but alluring color palette of black, white, and a pop of red. I paired this lovely black one piece swimsuit with white denim cutoff shorts, and a fun floppy hat for a beach-ready look! I favor a minimalistic aesthetic, and like my accessories to reflect that as well. I selected a funky pair of thick black sandals with a white platform to pair with this look. Translucent pink sunglasses and a matte red lip were the perfect pops of color to complement this outfit. A classic look can always be taken to the next level with unexpected elements!Â
