Hey ya’ll! I’m Savannah, and I’m from the great state of Texas (in case you didn’t catch that already). I’m 19 and a sophomore photojournalism major at the University of North Texas. I am a committed Netflix-er, lover of weddings and I seriously can’t get enough of Thai food. I also really like commas, my dog (who is the cutest animal alive) and all things Christmas.
I grew up riding ponies at my grandmother’s horse breeding farm, and have been infatuated with horses ever since. I was competitive for a while, even riding on my school’s equestrian team last year. Being immersed in the horse world actually piqued my interest in fashion. Equestrian sports put a lot of emphasis on looks, and staying on trend is very important at certain shows. A lot of my style now is inspired by the equestrian world, and I find myself drawn to clean lines, neutral colors and structured pieces.
I am all about fun new trends, but sticking to the classics is my thing. You can never go wrong with staple pieces in solid colors. Ripped jeans and a white blouse will always look good, and a LBD will always be in style. I believe accessories are the real star of the show, and can take any outfit from drab to fab.
Even though my personal style is more on the understated side, I have a great appreciation for so many different styles. It’s amazing how just one article of clothing can describe who someone is. I am incredibly excited to begin this internship, and I can’t wait to pave my way in the fashion world.
