My name is Savery Meurer and I am from the Boston metropolitan area. I attend Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York and major in fashion merchandising. I have been infatuated with fashion ever since I was a young girl because of my mother and grandmother. Moreover, my grandmother worked as a buyer for a fashion company and my mother was an editor for both Glamour and ELLEÂ magazines, as well as a designer for Ralph Lauren. So you could say I grew up in a fashion forward household and that the apple does not fall far from the tree. This is one reason why I decided to study fashion merchandising with a promotion concentration at Marist College. My long-term goal is to work for a public relations company some day and work backstage at fashion shows. Finally, I am excited for all of you to see my posts this summer!
I have always loved to be involved in fashion. I have interned with Anna Maier Couture for Bridal Fashion Week as a model dresser, helped backstage at certain fashion shows as well as interning at Sara Campbell in Boston.
In addition to fashion, I have a strong interest in photography. I have always loved taking pictures and I have been an active member of the photography club at Marist College.
For the past year I have attended college in the New York metropolitan area and fell in love with the vibe and energy. Â I have always loved looking at the trends and street style around the city and New York is ground zero for what is about to be hot.
If I could describe my style it would be boho but sometimes with some grunge. Some of my favorite places to shop are Free People, Topshop, LF, rag & bone, VINCE and Joie. I also find some of my best clothing pieces and accessories at thrift stores.  Moreover, if you see someone walking down the street in all black most likely wearing a leather jacket, a black band T-shirt, ripped jeans with a bohemian looking silver necklace from Free People, it’s probably me.
I am extremely thankful to have the opportunity to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista this summer.
Keep an eye out for my posts!
