Hey, Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Shannon Hopkins, and I am a junior Marketing major at James Madison University (JMU) in Virginia. This past summer, I interned as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru and I am so excited for the opportunity to intern again.
My love of fashion has grown tremendously over the years. Living on Long Island and being so close to New York City, I’ve always been around amazing fashion icons. I am obsessed with Gossip Girl, The Hills, social media and everything KORS Michael Kors. Going to college in Virginia from New York was definitely a change. I was introduced to southern brands, like Lily Pulitzer and Jack Rogers, that I’ve come to love. One of my new favorite places to shop at is Brandy Melville. The clothes there are simple, but fashionable!
The best part of going to college was having closet overload. I live in a house with five girls,  so I have four other closets to choose from. You can say I’m in heaven. Having three brothers at home, there was never any borrowing or sharing of clothes going on. Living with so many girls was definitely a huge change for me. I loved raiding everyone’s closets to find the perfect outfit. My roommates always ask for my advice when it comes to choosing an outfit. I loved styling others and influencing peers with my unique style.
This outfit is one of my favorites because of the pink fur faux vest. Neutral color faux fur vests are in style this season, so I had to buy this one when I saw this pink one while shopping at Forever 21. I kept the rest of the outfit casual with a simple, off-white long sleeve blouse, dark jeans and a pair of Nine West booties. Because of my obsession with Michael Kors, I wore a KORS Michael Kors rose gold watch to finish the outfit off. I loved this outfit because its trendy, but also showed my personality with the pop of pink!
Keep a look out for my posts for a detailed look of James Madison University’s greatest Fashionistas/Fashionistos. I look forward to sharing!
