Hello College Fashionista/os! My name is Shannon Regan, and I am a postgraduate student at Humber College. I am studying public relations, and I am hoping to pursue my dream job as a public relations consultant for Inditex/Zara. This is my first semester as a Style Guru, and I couldn’t be more excited!
I grew up as the second youngest of five children. I always envied the creativity and imagination that my parents encouraged us to have. My younger sister can cover an entire canvas in sweeping swathes of colours. My brothers are music geniuses, and my older sister is an incredible poetry writer. I always thought my creativity glowed in a much less obvious expression of art. Ralph Lauren once said, “Fashion is not about labels. It’s not about brands. It’s about something else that comes from within you.” Fashion to me has always been about this something from within. The explosion of street styles and the bloggers who document it demonstrate just what an important vessel fashion has become for us to express ourselves.
My go-to pieces are a pair of black trousers, preferably high-waisted with a unique blouse. I typically buy tops that have different textures, patterns and shapes but am known to stick to neutral colours. I never leave the house without a good bootie either! When I’m not shopping or looking for the next outfit to put together, you can find me out and about on some sort of adventure. I am a busy bee and have a hard time sitting still. I love to spend as much time outdoors as possible. The world is a beautiful place and I try to take advantage of what it has to offer every day.
There are so many truly brilliant minds that have graced the world of fashion and made it their own art form. I hope to do the same this semester as a #RAD CollegeFashionista.
