Hi Fashionistas/os! My name is Shannon Spraul and I’m currently a senior at the University of Cincinnati. I’m studying Communication, Public Relations and hoping to minor in Fashion Design Studies.
While I do love fashion, I must admit I don’t look to fashion publications or major fashion blogs for tips and trends. I find myself taking more notes from celebrities’ day-to-day outfits and my favorite YouTubers. I spend a lot of my time on YouTube watching shopping hauls from my favorite YouTubers and I only religiously check fashion blogs that are dedicated to finding what stores certain celebs’ outfit pieces belong to.
The YouTubers that I mostly turn to for fashion inspiration are Lauren Luthringshausen from LoveLaurenElizabeth, Amanda Steele from MakeupbyMandy24, and Claudia Sulewski from BeyondBeautyStar, while the celebrity I usually turn to is Kylie Jenner. I think I look to them because they all have a style that isn’t super girly but is still feminine, aren’t afraid to incorporate cool shoes that others might say “what are those?!” to and they all tend to stick to neutral colors with a pop of color every once in a while, which is what I tend to do. Ever since I started getting my hair dyed to a teal ombre almost a year ago, I have stuck to buying mostly neutral colors. My hair is a statement of its own and if I do incorporate color in, I stick to navy, royal blue, burgundy and olive green.
When I spent my vacation in California this summer, I found myself living in this outfit and outfits similar to this: a plain black crop top, black high-waisted shorts, my Rebecca Minkoff Mini M.A.B. (I love this one for the upcoming fall season), and my beloved adidas!
I’m looking forward to meeting Fashionistas/os across my campus this fall and hope you and I can pull inspiration from them to update our wardrobes for the upcoming season!
