Hello Fashionistas, my name is Shannon Steffan and I am currently in my second semester at Seneca College studying photography. This fall will be my first semester with CollegeFashionista on my campus in Toronto. I’m so excited to have this opportunity and the chance to uncover some rad fashion styles around campus.
Fashion to me has always been an outlet of self-expression. I often change my style depending on the mood I am in. When I feel like letting out my inner bad ass, be sure to catch me in my combat boots and leather jacket. My friends have categorized my style as a mix between hippy (gypsy) and rock ‘n’ roll. This is why I love fashion so much; it allows your look to evolve and change with you and your life.
I’m constantly browsing through my favorite bloggers’ Instagram feeds, which is where I often get my inspiration. I am obsessed with Luanna90 on Instagram; she is a style killer in the streets. I am also obsessed with Shenae Grimes Beech and her and her husband’s personal blog Two Halves.
My go-to pieces are usually high-waisted jeans or a maxi skirt with a crop top, though as soon as I wake up in the morning the excitement to put together an outfit on a blank canvas tends to bring out the creative side in me. Nothing brings an outfit together like a killer pair of platform heels. It has always been my 90s childhood goal to be apart of the Spice Girls, but as my sister would not hesitate to point out, I am tone deaf, so let me stick to the fashion. For everyday wear, my leather booties do great justice, and be sure to check out all of my chokers throughout the semester- I’m constantly buying new ones.
If I’m not changing my clothes or my hair, I’m usually changing my location. I have a wandering soul and I love to travel and explore the beautiful world that we live in. Two years ago I launched my own personal blog, www.sxannygrace.com, where I display a lot of my personal work and photographs from my travels. My blog got the attention of a local boutique near my house and gave me the chance to photograph a look book for their summer and fall collections. This was a dream come true and I was beyond thrilled for the opportunity and now I get the chance to show off my own style, take photos of other #RAD fashionistas and blog all about it on CollegeFashionista.
This is going to be an unforgettable semester and I am so excited I get to share it here with all of you. Be sure to follow my journey on CollegeFashionista; I can’t wait to see where this leads to next!
