My journey as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista began three years ago during my Freshman year at Roger Williams University. I can vividly remember getting my acceptance email and spending hours deciding what to wear and what to write for my first Style Guru Bio. Since then I’ve changed my major from biology to public relations, joined a variety of clubs and organizations, found a passion for weightlifting and most importantly, developed a solid sense of who I am. Looking back, so much has changed; however, my passions for CF and fashion as a whole have remained a constant and helped me find my way through it all.
I used to be the girl who would wake up an hour early to make sure my look was perfect regardless of what I had to do that day. Now, I pride myself of my ability to walk out the door less than 20 minutes after rolling out of bed. And honestly, thank god athleisure is trending because I can put together an outfit comprised of mostly Spandex like no one else. I simply don’t have the time that I used to, but that doesn’t mean my sense of style has disappeared, It’s just a little different.
An individual’s fashion sense is ever-changing based on lifestyle, trends, and more. While I used to be all about the “wow” factor, I’m much more attracted to practicality these days. Looks like this one are my favorite just for that reason. This T-shirt dress is one of my favorite pieces because of how much I can do with it. In addition to being a dress, it can also be tied up to create a cute top that pairs perfectly with leggings or skinny jeans. My white converse take me from the weight room to the dance floor and lets face it, if your scarf doesn’t also serve as a sweater and a blanket, why are you even wearing it? Blanket scarves are king.
Follow along as I narrate one last fashionable semester of meeting new people, learning about them and about their favorite looks.
