Lo, and behold—we’ve made it another year!
Hello style lovers! Last year was great, contrary to all of the memes on social media. I turned 21, served as the Assistant Social Media director at my university’s radio station, and I even got the chance to travel. I’m looking forward to 2017, especially since I’ll be graduating with my Bachelor’s degree in journalism this coming May. I’m also super psyched to return for another great semester as a Style Guru.
Lately, everyone’s favorite question seems to be, “what will you do once you graduate?” My response—wherever life takes me. One thing that I do know for sure is that, I love fashion and all the jobs in the industry concerning the topic. I’ve had my hand in a little bit of everything. Writing of course, photography, graphic design, retail, event planning, illustration, and the list continues. No matter where I end up, the most important thing to me, is that, I get to meet cool people and be surrounded by those with the same love and passion for style as myself.
As far as MY style, it is as versatile and unpredictable as life. The trend that I am loving right now is, chokers. An old style trend taking another lap, and doing it quite well. I recently bought a choker when I visited Las Vegas. It is black, lace, and has a mood color-changing pendant. Definitely the first choker of many to come. I am wearing it in this look. I am also wearing a black fedora hat from Forever21, inspired by none other than my bae, Bey. To complete the look of my favorite black T-shirt dress from Target, I added my favorite fashion-find, a camouflage jacket from the army surplus store. This look could be simplified in three words: classic street-style grunge.
