Hello my fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Shayna, and I am a first-year Fashion Communication student at Ryerson University, located in the big city of Toronto.
As I’ve grown up in a small town, moving to the big city has been quite a change—but it has been a wonderful one. Now that I live in the city, I am able to see and appreciate so many different fashion styles and personalities that I cannot wait to share with all of you this semester.
Ever since I was a little girl, shopping and dress-up were always my favourite pastimes—and they still are today! I love everything about fashion; from hair and makeup to accessories. I think that so much can be said in an outfit, but most of all—it’s so fun! Along with fashion, I also love music, reading and my spoiled little pug named Sabian.
My personal style is always changing, and it tends to depend on my mood that day. My style can be anywhere from girly to edgy, but I am always a sucker for embellishment and a bit of a girly touch (as you can tell from my highly embellished shoes and flared coat featured in this outfit). My style icon is definitely Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl, and I believe Eric Daman, the costume designer for both Gossip Girl and The Carrie Diaries, is a fashion genius! However, for me and my own personal style, the most important thing is finding those unique and interesting pieces that surprise people. I love the unexpected when it comes to fashion, and I cannot wait to explore all of the unique fashions on campus and bring them to you!
