Hello, everyone! I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am to be a Style Guru this spring semester. It will be my first semester doing this, so please stick with me as I attempt to get the hang of things.
I am a freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in Retailing. I grew up in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. I wouldn’t be surprised if you haven’t heard of it because not much happens there—ever. Coming from such a boring town, you might ask how I got into fashion in the first place. Well, believe it or not, it all started because of Project Runway! I would stay on my couch all day and watch marathons of that show. Then, I started subscribing to Glamour and Nylon magazine (my favorite magazine by the way) and got myself a Lookbook. A few shopping trips later, and here I am today!
Now, I think there are some things you should know about me as a person. I am obsessed with Frozen. I am also obsessed with Beyoncé (but who isn’t, right?). If there would ever be a lip syncing competition on campus, I would win hands down. I’m a Harry Potter fanatic and mac ‘n’ cheese is one of my favorite foods. I make lists, and I mean a lot of lists. I believe that one can never have too many clothes (though my mother may tell you otherwise). I even managed to fit close to my whole wardrobe into my dorm room, which was no small task. Oversized sweaters and flannels are my one true love and I love heels. I’m still working on the whole “not looking like a baby deer” thing when I walk in them. Lastly, I think it’s important for you all to know that I have a stuffed Olaf and I’m not ashamed.
I’m looking forward to the rest of the semester and I can’t wait to see what it will bring!
