My name is Shyanne and this is my first semester with CollegeFashionista. I first became interested in fashion when I watched my first episode of Project Runway. I soon realized that I can’t draw for my life, which made me interested in the business side of fashion. I am currently majoring in apparel, textiles, and merchandising with a minor in business at Central Washington University.
If I had to describe my style in one word it would be confused. My styles really depends on how I am feeling that day. Some days I like to wear lots of color and rock a feminine look, and other days I like to wear dark colors and be more edgy. My favorite part about getting dressed everyday would have to be picking out the shoes I am going to wear and doing my makeup. I like not having a specific style because it means I can wear whatever I’m imagining that day.
When I have a break from studying, I like to exercise. Exercise has become a big part of my daily routine. I also read and watch many fashion related things. My favorite shows are House of DVF, Project Runway, and I’m excited for So Cosmo to begin. My favorite book would be Capture Your Style by Aimee Song. I hope to one day have a successful blog and Instagram like her.
For this look, I took a basic pair of ripped black boyfriend jeans and paired it with a Guns N’ Roses t-shirt. Underneath the T-shirt I put a long sleeved burgundy turtleneck because where I go to school it is currently snowing and has been for several days. The shoes I have chosen are classic black Dr. Marten boots, they make any look more edgy. And for the star of the show is the velvet khaki jacket I paired with this look. The jacket adds an overall coolness to the outfit.
