Hello CollegeFashionista readers! My name is Siyu Liu and I am a returning Style Guru writing for my fourth semester here at CollegeFashionista. Just a year ago, I was writing my first STYLE GURU BIO after I had finished my sophomore year of college and did not know where to receive experience with fashion journalism.  Ever since I’ve joined the team, I’ve written over 40 articles and photographed numerous Fashionista/os. Working on each post per week has perhaps become my favorite thing to do.
Through writing each week, I discovered that I pay a lot of close attention to details. A shirt is simply not just a shirt to me as I love to talk about the pattern, material, style, shape and how it makes the outfit. Photographing each individual is always fun and I learned to find the best natural lighting and background. When spotting Fashionista/os, I take a moment to observe a statement piece in his or her outfit then picture how I would put it to words. CollegeFashionista has definitely helped in a massive way to polish these skills.
Personal style wise, I discovered I have been wearing less colors and more dramatic shapes. I’m loving black and white ensembles and wide-leg culottes. I also have been learning to wear heels with confidence, and my orange pair of heels adds a summery pop of color to my attire. My go-to summer lipstick is a pink coral shade, perfect for everyday wear.
