Hello fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Skylar Smith, and this is my first semester as a Style Guru intern. I am currently a sophomore at the University of South Carolina, where I am majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Retailing. My dream is to work in Fashion PR when I graduate, promoting amazing brands and designers.
For as long as I can remember, I have loved design and fashion. My personal style leans more feminine and boho, although it varies with whatever my mood is that day. That’s one of my favorite things about fashion- you can be whoever you want just by throwing on a different outfit! I am a big believer that fashion has no rules, only that the wearer should feel beautiful and empowered by whatever they put on. Like one of my icons, Coco Chanel, once said, “Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself.”
When I’m not writing for CollegeFashionista, you can find me baking, reading through some of my favorite blogs or curling up with a good book, trying to find a cat to pet or binge watching Netflix. I’m currently obsessed with Gilmore Girls! I also have a bit of an online shopping habit (some might call it an addiction) that isn’t the best for my college student wallet.
I am so excited and thankful for this new journey with CollegeFashionista. I cannot wait to bring you all snippets of the best fall fashion here on USC’s campus, and hope to inspire you try something new. Here’s to a #RAD semester, filled with lots of style!
