Hello! My name is Sophia Barnes and this is my first semester as a Style Guru Intern for CollegeFashionista. Some of the things I love are reality TV, online shopping, and chocolate chip cookies. I am a freshman at the University of Denver and I’m from Boulder, Colorado. So of course I appreciate the beautiful scenery of Colorado, love to go skiing, and live for fashion of all four beautiful Coloradan seasons! I’m excited for the next semester of exploring the fashion around my area and campus!
The weather in Colorado is constantly changing throughout the seasons, and even throughout the day. One minute it will be sunny and warm, the next it will be windy and cold. This may seem like an annoying problem, but it makes for creative outfits with many fun interesting layers. I love layering up cozy sweaters and warm flannels over top of basic body-con dresses with over-the-knee socks and boots. This type of outfit is very versatile in the ever-changing Colorado weather. For the winter, I love wearing neutrals and especially for a monochromatic outfit. I love piling on a bunch of gray pieces with maybe one statement piece of another color, texture, or pattern.
My personal style is polished, but effortless; trendy, but unique. My style is always evolving and expanding to the changing trends. I’m so excited to get to explore fashion more throughout the semester, and expand my knowledge about style and fashion through my own campus at DU! I’m so happy that I am a part of the CollegeFashionista Style Guru Gang, so that I can share this knowledge with others and continue to grow!
