How lucky am I to get to share what I love with the world? My name is Sophia Tobia. Since I was old enough to turn pages, I’ve surrounded myself with fashion magazines. I have always been enthralled with fashion and the ability to express my feelings with my clothes.
My real journey began when I started my college career in Florida as an art major. With every project I did, I found myself incorporating fashion, whether it be a fashion illustration or a wearable piece of art. While transferring from Florida State University to West Virginia University I realized during the move that everything I had done at FSU was fashion related. Changing my major from art to fashion merchandising was not only the easiest thing, but the smartest, most logical thing I have ever done. The move to West Virginia has been a nice change. With the cold weather comes a lot of snow, which means I get to wear a lot of winter coats, hats and boots along with other accessories. Outer wear is one of my favorite pieces of clothing. The right coat, cape or shawl can change the appearance of any outfit. I consider coats and sweaters to be the wrapping on the gift.
One of the many reasons I love fashion is the fact that I get to play dress up every morning. The beauty of fashion is that you are able to change your look and style whenever you feel like it. I find it difficult to identify with one look a specific style. Every day is a new day which means we can make it whatever we want when it comes to fashion.
