Hi everyone! My name is Sophie Andreesen and I am so excited to be a part of another semester of style, trends, fashion, and most importantly CollegeFashionista.
I have just started my second semester as a sophomore at Indiana University with a major in journalism and a minor in fashion design. From the peak of Limited Too. up until now, I have always loved fashion and expressing myself through what I am wearing. But, even more than that, I have loved to read about it.
To me, there is no better feeling than flipping through the glossy pages of Vogue, Harper’s Baazar, and Marie Claire to see what is on the leading edge of fashion, that has been displayed in the most interesting and creative way. I don’t know if this makes me a hoarder but, I just can’t seem to get rid of the stacks of September issues that sit in my white-walled room.
So clearly, when starting college there was no question that a future career in fashion journalism was perfect for me.
Over the years my personal style has evolved into a simplistic but, chic wardrobe. I tend to choose pieces that are a classic piece with a unique twist. This way I don’t feel the need to amp up my outfit with tons of accessories. Though, if I were to choose one accessory…it would most definitely be sunglasses!
The pair I am currently loving (and wearing in the photo) are Illesteva with rose gold reflective lenses. I’m obsessed!
With the winter weather and being from Chicago–where being warm and fashionable are key–I have also been really loving cool coats and fun boots. I have found that if an outfit has either of these two elements you are able to wear almost anything (yes, even leggings) and still look like you put time and effort into getting ready. Some of my favorite coats I have bought are from Topshop, expensive looking without being a regretful splurge. Fur coats are timeless and have the ability to transform a plain outfit into looking straight off the runway. On the other spectrum a coat with a moto feel can keep your look effortlessly cool. The more buckles and hardware detailing, the better… in my opinion.
I cannot wait to continue to show everything I have been loving as this semester moves from the cold days of January up until the warm days of late spring and early summer. Follow me on Instagram for even more of what inspires me!
