Hi Fashionistas/os! My name is Stephanie Blais but I usually go by “Steph.” I am from a town that’s 20 minutes outside of Boston, but go to school in Connecticut. This is my first semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I’m a junior at Fairfield University studying psychology.
I love all types of music and therefore, I spend way too much time making Spotify playlists. I am usually found with high heels on, a coffee in hand and a smile on my face. I am only 5 feet tall so I find heels to be a necessity. With two years of college behind me, I have learned so much about who I am and staying true to myself. This includes expressing myself through fashion. Now, I approach getting dressed in the morning with the expression, “Forget the rules. If you like, wear it” on my mind.
I went to a Catholic high school that required me to wear a uniform, which included a plaid skirt and boxy polo shirt. Although uniforms were nice for days when I was running late or just wanted to roll out of bed, I missed the excitement of putting together an outfit and deciding who I wanted to be for the day. Now that I’m in college, I’m back to dressing myself everyday with unlimited possibilities. I am constantly changing my style depending on what I’m feeling. Some days I’ll dress edgy in all-black, and some days I’ll try boho-chic. I love dressing up for a night out, but I am instantly in sweatpants the second I enter the comfort of my house or dorm room.
My favorite thing about fashion is how it is constantly changing. I love how older trends are coming back such as overalls, round glasses and jean skirts. Currently, my favorite trend is chokers. I am obsessed with chokers and hope this is a trend that never dies since I have already bought one for every day of the week!
Thanks for taking the time to read a little about me. I am so excited to be on this journey to find unique styles and I hope to inspire others while finding my own inspiration from other Fashionistas.
