Hello Fashionita/os! My name is Stephanie Spencer and I am a sophomore majoring in Communication Studies at University of North Carolina, Wilmington. As I continue my major, I hope to either concentrate in IMC or Public Relations. I am super excited to start my first year as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! UNCW is located 15 minutes (yes—15 minutes!!) from Wrightsville Beach, so the style around here is unique in its own way. This is my first internship and I hope to make it the best experience of fall semester. When I found out about the possibility of combining two things I love—fashion and writing—I knew this internship was the right fit for me.
I am originally from New York and had the ability to go visit this summer for the Her Conference of 2015. Being there, I got to see so many different styles and trends that are so unique to the culture of NYC. It amazed me how people were so confident in their own skin and walked the streets of New York with not only sass, but also purpose. So, when I returned home to North Carolina, I wanted to search for this strong self-assurance that New Yorkers have, in my own hometown and on my own college campus.
Confidence is important to me, and I want to know only show the confidence in my self, but in the people that have the most amazing fashion sense! My style is constantly changing and developing, as I get older. One day I could be wearing ripped boyfriend jeans, white slip-on shoes and another day be wearing pixie pants and a blazer. But, one item does stay constant in my wardrobe—my sterling silver “S” necklace.
Once again, I am so excited and proud to be sharing the UNCW trends of Fall 2015, and hope to show you why living near the beach so amazing!
