Hello fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Sydney Helphenstine and I am currently a rising sophomore at Marymount University! Marymount is a small school located outside of Washinigton D.C. I have always loved the city, so it was no surprise how excited I was to move so close to one. That’s right, I’m a small town girl.
I grew up in a very small town located in northern Maryland. So while I was never more than an hour from a city, I still wasn’t able to be in a highly populated area very often. While growing up in a small town, I was able to gain a very large imagination. I think that is where my love for fashion all began. From my very first Barbie doll and obsessions with dress up clothes, it was pretty obvious what my career path was going to be. I didn’t see that it was so obvious though until I was in high school. I was never perfectly certain what I wanted to do with my life, but I had always loved art since I was a little girl. So all of the professions I wanted to take on reflected that in some way. But, thankfully, after realizing style was my biggest interest in life and YouTube’s beauty gurus became my ultimate obsession, I knew fashion was my true calling. I also started to become obsessed with Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, my biggest style icons.
So now, as a fashion merchandising major with a minor in business and fashion design, here I am! Along with studying, I also have a blog and I am planning on launching my first YouTube video by mid-summer! Social media is my favorite spot to experience different fashions and I only see it as a growing platform. So what better way to enjoy it than to keep sharing on my own! I am also here to share fashion advice with you all as a Style Guru! So I can’t wait to get started and share my take on fashion with you all!
