Hey there Fashionistas and Fashionistos, I’m back! After taking the summer off from writing, I’m looking forward to being back on campus as a Style Guru searching for fashionable people to share with you this fall. This will be my third semester with CollegeFashionista, and I can’t wait to see what new looks and trends the semester will bring.
Here’s a little about me: I’m currently a junior at the University of Minnesota, majoring in marketing with a minor in retail merchandising. When I’m not in class or writing, I love to dance, both on a stage with my team or alone in my kitchen (usually to some Beyoncé). I’m also a big fan of binge watching Netflix and finding new places to explore in Minneapolis, especially if food is involved.
As for my style, it’s always changing, so I’m not sure if there is a good word to describe it. Some days I’m feeling extra girly, some days a bit edgier and some days I’m just all about wearing what feels most comfortable. But that’s my favorite thing about fashion—I can change my look every day! I love experimenting and finding new things that look great together. Lately I’ve been reaching for my distressed boyfriend jeans and lace-up tops, with my favorite pair of sneakers being my go-to shoes for most outfits. I’ve also been loving wearing a bold lip color and keeping the rest of my look simpler with fewer accessories.
Whenever I’m in need of a little style inspiration, I usually look to celebrities like Blake Lively and Gigi Hadid or fashion bloggers like Wendy Nguyen of Wendy’s Lookbook and Julie Sariñana of Sincerely Jules (these ladies know what they’re doing). For this fall, I’m hoping the choker trend will stick around, and I’m definitely itching for cooler weather so I can break out my bomber jackets and booties. Mostly I’m just excited to see what new trends will pop up this season, and which ones I’ll be able to spot you guys rocking around campus! I hope you’re all as excited as I am, so look out for new posts coming up later this month!
