Hello, fellow fashion enthusiasts, I’m Sydney, and this is my second semester as a Style Guru! I am thrilled to be back on the hunt for more Fashionistas/os at Marist College this fall (especially since the fall is my favorite season for fashion)! I am beginning my junior year as a marketing major and a fashion merchandising minor.
If I had to describe my sense of style in a few words, I would not be able to do it! While writing this article, I kept looking at my Instagram photos and thinking about the contents of my closet to try and “define” my clothing. I found it virtually impossible. Some of my outfits are sporty, but others are undeniably girly. Some days, I want to cover myself in black from head to toe. Other days, I want to stand out in a vibrant print.
I realized that my love for the items in my closet has less to do with the particular “style” they represent and more to do with the feeling I get when I put them on. I love T-shirt dresses because they make me feel comfortable and cozy. I love high-waisted jeans because they elongate my legs, making me feel confident. Most of all, I love that by simply throwing on some of my favorite pieces, I feel better. Fashion enables me to truly conquer my days, and I’m sure the reason you are here reading this is because it has a similar effect on you!
In this look, I am wearing an olive green romper layered over a lace bralette. I think that rompers are super flattering, as they cinch in at your natural waist and give your legs more length! Today, I opted for simple accessories, including a small ring and a silver necklace. Metallic tattoos are my favorite way to add extra detail to an outfit. I love the way that arm cuffs look, but it is very difficult for me to find some that fit my arm. Metallic tattoos are just as effective, and they last for several days! Finally, I decided to dress up the outfit with a pair of brown wedges. I take advantage of every chance I get to wear heels!
