Hey there fellow Fashionista/o’s! My name is Taylor Himelstein and I’m currently a retail, merchandise and product development student at Florida State University. I’m so fortunate and excited to announce that this is my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. My first semester I was exposed to such a diverse group of #RAD internees that I seriously cannot wait to see what’s in store.
This time it will definitely be an interesting experience because my wardrobe changes just like the seasons (or lack there of in Florida). Summertime for me is all about flaunting floral dresses and little skirts but fall just carries this cozy tomboy essence in my head. The one thing I enjoy most about fashion is being able to make it a personal and unique story. Through countless attempts of wearing heels, unflattering dresses and trends that should be left to others I’ve successfully made a personal fashion rule that I will share with you. My number one rule in fashion is to ALWAYS wear something you’re comfortable in. If that means strutting the rising “athleisure” look every day, you will exude ten times more confidence. Dress those sweats up!—or in my case, a onesie.
My featured outfit above pins out perfectly what I mean. For those of you who haven’t discovered the world of onesies, I strongly suggest you explore it. You can dress them up, down, sideways, WHATEVER! They literally hold all the answers to your fall semester outfit stresses. To make my basic black onesie a tad trendier I layered a white T-shirt underneath which may or may not of been inspired by Cher’s gym outfit in Clueless. Aside from being layered obsessed, I happen to be print obsessed too which explains my choice of a leopard bomber jacket. Finally, I still wanted to stay comfortable so I finished the outfit off with some white slides that left my feet very happy throughout the day.
This is only the beginning of my comfortable, yet trendy, CollegeFashionista journey. I hope you come to my feed for inspiration or to stay up to date with my fashion ideas!
