My name is Taylor Szala and I am a first year student at Drake University studying finance and data analytics. Some may wonder what a finance major is doing with an internship for CollegeFashionista, but fashion has always ran in my blood since as long as I can remember. There’s a reason I had to bring an additional clothes rack to college because I had too much clothes; true story. I love shopping and trying new adventurous styles out all the time.
Even with a finance degree, I hope to work in the fashion field somehow, preferably for Vogue, though that one is a long shot. In addition to fashion, I enjoy writing, modeling, photography and, of course, binge-watching Netflix with my coffee and ramen in hand. Starbucks is my addiction and you will never find me without it, my drink of choice being a tall double mocha in winter or an iced passion tea lemonade in summer. I am also obsessed with taking pictures and you will never see me not taking a selfie or Instagramming my coffee.
As far as my style goes, I would characterize it as being eccentric and minimalistic. Yes that’s contradicting but I describe it this way because I tend to wear minimalistic clothing with a pop of something exciting. I like this style because it creates a focal piece for my outfits, causing them to stand out more than having a ton of things going on all at once. Basically, if you’re looking for me in a crowd, I’m the girl with the bright shirt, Starbucks in hand that’s taking a selfie, or maybe a hundred.
