Marc Jacobs once said, “Clothes are nothing until someone lives in them.” My name is Taylor Weisend, and I’m a senior at Marshall University. Though this is my second semester as a Style Guru, so much has changed since the last time I was a Style Guru my sophomore year. Being a senior this year, life can get a little hectic with extra hours, jobs, internships, a sorority and applications for graduate schools. All of this leaves little time for planning outfits and getting ready. This being said; I rely heavily on simple but stylish versatile outfits that can go from class to work, to sorority events. One of my favorite pieces to throw on is a simple sundress. Going from place to place, I also love my Sanuk sandals to keep me comfy throughout a hectic day with a lot of walking.
Though this is my go-to look for class and work, I still love to dress up for a girls night out or a date with my boyfriend. My current favorite trend is the ’90s style. I love to go thrifting to find authentic ’90s pieces you just can’t find in stores right now. I love the simple striped T-shirts, crop tops, chokers and flannels. I’m also really excited for the weather to cool down so I can break out my tall brown leather boots and sweaters, my ultimate favorite outfit. Just add a pumpkin spice latte, and you are ready for fall!
I am sad I had to take a couple semesters off from being a Style Guru, but I am so excited to be back and cannot wait to continue showing you the amazing Fashionistas/os I see on campus every day. As the weather begins to cool and the leaves begin to change, I’ll be capturing it all, from scarves to knee socks. Check back soon and get a little fashion inspiration from Marshall University.
