Hey friends! My name is Teddi Thyfault and this is my first semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! I am a senior at Point Loma Nazarene University and am currently studying societal communications. Honestly, I have no idea what I want to do after college. Cheers! However, I know God has a more than fantastic plan for me and I’m just trying to let Him do His thing right now and not get in the way.
You can find me in my sunny town of San Diego where I am right in the middle of one of my favorite fashion scenes. I love this town’s style because of the great diversity. That is also the most accurate way to describe my style—diverse. My favorite types of styles usually tend to go more boho chic; including a long, loose skirt or a T-shirt dress. However, you can also find me sporting a number of different styles throughout the year, including embroidered jean jackets and a pair of leather pants.
Traveling is something so near and dear to my heart and I am bummed I don’t get to do it more often. From traveling I have been able to observe that different styles that resonate with different cities, specifically here in the states. One of my favorite trends to follow is the different variations in beach styles that I’ve seen as I moved throughout different beach cities these last few years. I’m also in love with city fashion, such as New York, and how it is constantly changing. I am always looking at new ways to upgrade my wardrobe from beachy vibes to city chic. It will be interesting to write about the upcoming styles from these areas and see how they progress throughout the semester.
Beauty is something I have been getting into a lot lately and I’m loving it. I didn’t really start wearing makeup until my first year of college and stopped wearing it soon after because I hated the feeling of not feeling comfortable with no makeup. Now, I try and go for that “I woke up like this” look and keep my makeup as natural looking as possible but I still enjoy getting updated on the latest looks. I am 100 percent obsessed with makeup tutorials and love testing these tips when I take a night out on the town. I am also a huge hair style enthusiast. You will hardly ever find me wearing my hair all natural because I am in love with trying out different hairstyles everyday. You can see in my featured picture that I am all about the hair crowns which are an easy way to spruce up your outfit.
I can’t wait to share more about my style with all of you and learn about what makes you a Fashionista/o. This is going to be a great semester where I hope to share my deepest darkest secrets about what I think about fashion and am stoked beyond belief to do it with CollegeFashionista!
