Summer: A carefree time of bikinis, sun-kissed skin and lively colors. As much as I love it and cherish the time we’ve spent together, I have a confession to make. Fall has always had my heart.
My name is Tessa Vogel, and I am a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I currently study communication arts, digital studies and fashion industry essentials. This is my third semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista, and I could not be more ecstatic. I appreciate all things authentic and purposeful, traits I try to demonstrate with my style choices.
In fall, we add pumpkin spice flavor to everything, paint the trees with an auburn palette, but, most importantly, bring back the fashion-friendly weather. Ask anyone, my wardrobe has never been very bright. I mainly stick to mauve, dull greens, mustard yellow and, my favorite, black. That is why I’m an absolute nut for fall fashion. Those colors become the new “it” colors.
This medallion print dress suits that color scheme. The length and flare of the dress balances a playfulness with the seriousness of those colors. Delicate jewelry, like the skinny bracelets, additionally tone down the harshness of the black. The leather booties give the ensemble a little bit of a retro vibe. Pulling on that same deep black, the floppy hat pairs nicely. Brimmed, black hats are a personal staple this season. They match almost everything and individualize the outfit at the same time, much like the mustard purse. Every outfit needs a little pizzazz, so why not go with a pop of color?
I cannot and will not mellow my excitement about fall. Keep up with me this semester as I bring the best looks from Madison to your screen! Know that I’m on the lookout, with a cozy, dirty chai latte in hand.
