Hello everyone! My name is Tori Gilbert, and I am currently a sophomore at Sacred Heart University where I am majoring in marketing and minoring in fashion. This is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista; I couldn’t be more excited to begin this experience! I’ve had a huge passion for fashion and styling outfits since my junior year of high school, so when I found out about this opportunity, I knew it would be the perfect way to share my style with the world.
Getting more into my personal style, I can say that it changes pretty often. I can go from dressing very preppy with a button-down, vest and riding boots, while other days go down an edgier route with ripped boyfriend jeans, slip-on sneakers and a loose T-shirt. I love adding small pieces of bling or jewelry to my outfits to make them stand out, like a statement necklace or a watch with tons of smaller bracelets.
I’m a huge fan of mixing and matching different patterns and textures together to create a more unique look. In this outfit, for example, I am wearing a plaid scarf with a leopard print belt for an extra pop, while keeping it neutral with light tan ankle booties and a white button-down (obviously covered in jewels). This look is definitely one I would wear if I was going on a first date to a nice, but not overly fancy restaurant, or if I was spending the day in New York City.
I couldn’t be more excited to start this journey with CollegeFashionista. Check back with me monthly to see new looks and fashion advice! I know I, and the rest of the Sacred Heart University CollegeFashionista team will be working hard to provide awesome articles that you won’t want to miss!
