I’m Tracey Pannell, a freshman at the State University of Oneonta, in New York. I’m currently about to switch my major from sociology to fashion and textiles. After joining the fashion club at my college, I realized that fashion is what I love and is something I want to pursue as a career. I’m really interested in the idea of designing my own clothes and making jewelry. I am so enthusiastic for my first semester since becoming a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista.
My style is pretty versatile; I wear what I’m in the mood for. Right now, because of the chilly weather, I can’t stop wearing layered outfits with my favorite pair of booties. In the summer, I usually wear boho-inspired outfits. However, my winter closet currently consists of sweater dresses, cardigans, jeans, sweaters, scarves, and bold statement pieces. I try not be to the stereotypical college student that wears sweatpants and sweatshirts to class, even if that means I have to wake up earlier. I like to look good every day because it leaves me feeling more confident. I start my day with a positive attitude, and I like my appearance to mirror that.
I find inspiration for my style from celebrities like Kylie and Kendall Jenner, my friends, and by using the app Polyvore. The outfit pictured above is my own spin on modern winter style. I’ve been recently obsessed with the color pink mauve, so I recently bought the scarf and coat from Forever 21. I paired this outfit with a black lace choker, silver rings, a black bag, and booties. Underneath, hidden from the camera, I wore an plain oversize black sweater with ripped jeans. I love wearing contrasting colors, because they make your outfit stand out. In this outfit, I’m ready to go while still being comfortable.
