Hi, Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Tracie. I’m a junior studying Journalism at Temple University. This is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista; I am very excited to meet plenty of Fashionistas Fashionistos. I get some much joy out of seeing how people put together their outfits, it’s inspiring. Fashion is my first love but writing follows right after.
Style comes when you put away the magazines, ignore the “what to wear for your body type” nonsense and you figure out what you like. It is a fun and liberating journey. I took it throughout high school and yes there were outfits I cringe to think about now but you have to learn what looks good and what feels good. Your style doesn’t have to be just edgy or preppy it is just as complex and beautiful as your personality. I love to go for an edgy look sometimes and other days I want a classic look.
Trends are fun. (I am currently loving the fishnets underneath jeans look.) You don’t have to ignore them. If you like one, try it and please share photos. But know that it is perfectly okay to not like all of them. Create outfits that speak to you and make you want to go out and have the best day. Getting caught up in an “is this in right now” debate takes the fun out of dressing. Wear what you want!
For this look, I went for my essentials. The go-to denim jeans, comfy button down, and statement booties. Together they make for an easy but still cute outfit. The faux fur jacket finishes the look off with a bit of edginess.  Add jewelry for extra sparkle and lipstick for a pop of color.
