Hello, Fashionistas/os! My name is Tyler, and this will be my last semester interning with CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru. This Spring, I will be graduating with a bachelor’s in journalism and a minor in fashion business. Being that this is my last year of college, it’s sort of hitting me that I’m an adult getting ready to be released into the real world.
I chose my major and minor because of my love of fashion magazines. Fashion magazines can give the reader an inside look into the industry. They can introduce you to potential careers that you never knew existed or give you insight into the lives of celebrities that you’re interested in.
Some of my favorites magazines include Teen Vogue, NYLON magazine, Seventeen, and Marie Claire. I love every magazine for different reasons and can see myself writing for each of them. But aside from my obsession with magazines, let’s move on to other things about me.
Fun fact: I am a big lover of East Asian cultures and can almost always be found wearing a K-Pop T-shirt. I hope to one day be able to cover my interests in both East Asian cultures and fashion for a magazine. I would love to be able to travel the world and write about people in fashion who you should know (cough, cough—Andrew Bevan).
I am living that dream currently as I participate in a study abroad program in Dublin, Ireland. I’ve been spending the last week and a half touring the city and shopping like a maniac. I just so happened to come across one of my favorite stores and had a field day where I got this cardigan. Watching the Fashionistas/os in Europe is like walking in the Fashion District anywhere. So much fun!
If you ever see me on the streets, I will almost always be wearing my Dr. Martens with a pair of fun socks. That is my unique way of adding fun to my otherwise neutral look.
I hope that you guys will join me during my last semester finding the Fashionistas/os of Columbia College Chicago.
