Hey hey, Fashionista/os! I’m Tyler Weidner and this is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista! With this being said, I’m excited to share with you guys just a little bit about myself. I am currently a sophomore at Kent State University in northeast Ohio, majoring in fashion merchandising with a double minor in business and fashion media. I grew up in a small town outside of Cleveland, Ohio which is about an hour away from where I go to school now. I loved growing up in a small town but I am definitely excited to see what else is out there and I aspire to live in a city at some point in my life. Going back to the topic of school, I plan to study abroad my junior year of college and I could not be more excited to travel and learn about what I love.
When I’m not doing homework or trying to get my life together, I am either binge watching New Girl or spending countless hours scrolling through Pinterest and Instagram. Like most of you, I follow only a million fashion publishing and fashion companies on Instagram and I use those as inspiration. I am extremely interested in social media as I run the Instagram for Kent State Alpha Phi. With my interest in social media, I am so excited to start this semester with CollegeFashionista. I’ve always wanted to express my love for fashion and what a perfect way to do so!
As far as my style goes, it is constantly changing. Currently, I like to keep it simple being at school I try to base what I wear on my surroundings. If you’re anywhere in the northeast Ohio area, you know that this tends to be a challenging thing to achieve when the weather changes every five minutes. This look features a white off-the-shoulder top from H&M with breathable fabric for the transition from summer to fall. I paired this simple, but chic top with distressed shorts from American Eagle Outfitters and my go-to stone earrings from Francesca’s. To finish off this look I wore my absolute favorite sandals from Forever 21 that I’ve been wearing non-stop for the past two summers. These sandals are so fun to wear and really express my style. I love the embroidery on them and also the lace-up aspect, not to mention the fact that they go with almost everything that’s in my closet.
I cannot wait for the rest of this semester and the chance to show you guys more about my own style and the style of students at Kent State!
