Hi there, Fashionistas/os! My name is Tytiana Wilson and I am a Fashion Merchandising and Retailing major at Lamar University. This is my first semester as a Style Guru and I’m overjoyed to showcase the different styles on my campus, and to be a part of the CollegeFashionista family.
I’m a fashion and makeup hoarder, Netflix aficionado and magazine devotee. Growing up in the heart of Texas, I always liked the Western wear obsession, but I always wanted to be different. My love for fashion stemmed from diving head first into Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Ebony magazines. I would always want to recreate the looks that were on the front pages myself, or dive through my mom’s closet to find anything similar.
My personal style could result from how creative I feel during my dressing routine. I can wear anything from a pair of jeans and a T-shirt to a personal creation to an inspired Christian Dior couture piece. My favorite articles of clothing would have to be vintage thrift clothing, or the items that I made. Nothing is better than wearing something that you created.
Straying from the casual jeans and T-shirt, I made a printed two-piece that reminds me of summer. A similar two-piece by Romwe inspired me to make my own. I paired this two-piece with a pair of comfortable, yet fashionable flatform sandals from Forever 21. In addition to the summer theme, I added a bright lip and stackable rings from Forever 21.
