Hi fashion lovers! I am Valerie Beck and I’m from sunny Los Angeles, California. Although I have a true love with California’s beautiful beaches and trendy stores, I have decided to take on a new adventure: moving to the Big Apple for college! I will be studying at Pace University and majoring in Fashion Marketing! I have been to the city multiple times, and each time I visit the concrete jungle, I find myself falling in love with it over and over again. So I decided to give New York City a chance to officially steal my heart, just like Los Angeles did!
Ever since I was little, I knew that I had an interest in fashion, but my passion for fashion started to truly began to evolve when I joined my school’s costumes crew for the fall and spring play productions. I especially enjoyed taking the annual trip with my fellow costume members to the local costume house every semester to pick out different articles of clothing, which transformed actors on a stage to characters in a story.
I feel so lucky to be able to experience both the West Coast and the East Coast fashion culture, as they are actually quite different. I am hoping to mix both my relaxed Californian style into that New York City-chic street style. I absolutely love being able to combine two different styles and try to create one that no one else has seen before. Personally, my style is casually edgy with a hint of girly in the mix. I can’t wait to start experimenting with new trends this coming fall in my new home and am so exited for all of the readers on CollegeFashionista to come along with me through my fashion journey at Pace University!
