Hello Fashionistas/os! I’m so excited that I have the opportunity to be a Style Guru for this fall semester! I am starting my sophomore year at Kent State University as a Fashion Merchandising major, and I cannot wait to see what this year has in store! I just finished my first semester as a Style Guru this summer and absolutely loved exploring the great street style in my hometown. I’m even more excited to document the remarkable style I am surrounded by every day on campus!
When I’m not in class, I love to spend my time hanging out with friends, studying or working at Justice. Another passion of mine is makeup and beauty trends! I could spend hours watching Beauty Gurus on YouTube. I’m always willing to try the newest product, palette or fad! Lipstick is definitely my favorite beauty product and I always (and I mean always) have a couple tubes stashed away in my purse!
I would describe my personal style as a combination of vintage and classic. I love finding great pieces that add a modern twist to a classic look! The denim skirt I’m wearing above is a great example of this style. It combines the classic ‘90s denim skirt with new details such as the pockets and buttons. I paired this great skirt with a boxy flannel and a bolo necklace! I love versatile pieces that can be styled in many different ways. To finish off the look I added a black bucket bag and a pair of vintage-inspired leather sandals. Makeup wise I went for a neutral eye look and my current obsession, matte liquid lipstick.
I can’t wait to showcase some of the great street style that I see on a daily basis at Kent State! I am constantly inspired by the awesome style of my classmates! Make sure to stop by once a month so you don’t miss out on great style!
