Hi Fashionistas! My name is Valerie Smith, I’m a sophomore at SUNY Plattsburgh from Westchester, New York. I am double majoring in Public Relations and Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism Management with a minor in Business.
My dream job is to be an event planner to express my creativity or to fall in love with a company and become their go-to PR gal. Fortunately, I have done a lot of travel outside of our home sweet home, America, to exotic destinations such as Italy, Spain, Greece and Canada since my school is pretty much on the border! My global adventures sparked a desire in me. That desire was to find a passion that directs me to a career path involving fashion and travel.
My inspiration in life falls into a theory that a lot of students do not know or treat as a secret. The secret is, when you do something you love and you are good at it, success will come to you. A motto like this always gets me thinking: How can I be most successful while living a happy life? The answer is passion; I just need to find what my niche is.
I’m here to be your Style Guru and guide my readers through a journey of what fashion sticks out of the crowd at a New York school, outside of the city. Living near the city in my hometown, I’ve seen where tons of looks begin. I’ve wanted to experience what looks trend outside of the city life and into the world where photographers become me and models become real people, they become you! Moving to a quaint school up North allows me to see what fashion trends have moved from big cities to our consumerism generation that loves to buy, shop and spend!
I love for my outfits to be casual and they always work using the number three. For example, when you have at least two accessories and a standout pair of shoes or a jacket, the outfit feels more personalized. Using geometric jewelry makes my outfit look fun and intriguing. The color of my Kendall and Kiley top brings forward the fall fashion colors. My accessories include a geometric Jennifer Zeuner Necklace and geometric gold rings, a Fossil watch, brindle suede Lucky Brand booties and an LF bag!
