Hello, Fashionistas/os! My name is Vanessa Vitiello and I am a senior at Pace University in New York City. I am studying Psychology and Women’s and Gender Studies but have always had a love for the fashion industry and writing. What better way to combine the two than writing for CollegeFashionista?
I am so excited to bring some of the hottest fall trends and looks to you all! Being a student in New York City has been such an amazing experience. Unlike many schools that are located in a college town or private campus, Pace is in the heart of the Financial District. Really though, we consider the entire city our campus. Much of the style we sport or that can be seen around campus is influenced from all over—from the Brooklyn hipsters to the Harlem streetwear.
More about me though: I am a true Jersey Girl, even though New York City has my heart now. Living in New Jersey and going to school in NYC makes my own style very diverse. Some days I love to rock a sleek all-black NYC look and others I am more for a beachy vibe. I love to express how I am feeling through my wardrobe. Currently, I work for Clinique as a beauty consultant, which is another fun and expressive part of my life. When I’m not at school or work, you’ll probably find me at the gym taking spin or Zumba. I am working towards going to graduate school for psychology. Cooking, photography, traveling and shopping are just some of my other favorite hobbies—I’m always up for an adventure!
Finding a great shopping deal can be so rewarding. I love to shop for some inexpensive finds at local consignment shops and stores like H&M. A special item that might bend the budget a bit can also be great. Some of my favorite pieces in my own closet are from designers like Burberry, Eileen Fisher and Gucci. By combining classic designer pieces and on-trend bargain finds, an awesome outfit is always at your fingertips.
If you’re like me, you are trying to squeeze the last few uses out of your white denim before Labor Day. I paired my favorite white jeans with a loose black tank top and a long sleeve chambray shirt that I rolled. To pull the look together, I added a simple black clutch embroidered with gold beading, one of my favorite bangles and a monogram necklace. My black Tory Burch sandals were the perfect shoes to complete this outfit.
