Hey Fashionistas/os! My name is Victoria Chardiet and this is my third RAD semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! I am a second semester freshman at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York studying industrial design.
Although fashion is not my major, CollegeFashionista has been a great means of nurturing my passion for fashion even while studying a different aspect of design. CollegeFashionista has given me some amazing opportunities to stretch and develop my photography and writing skills. I have been lucky enough to have participated in an online feature with other amazing members of the Style Guru team.
Moving to New York, let alone an art school in New York, my style has been going through a sort of metamorphosis. Attempting to find the balance between my tailored style of high school and the necessary studio clothes of an art school has been interesting. Attempting to continue my sharp and tailored look has been a struggle while working in the wood shop and painting my color theory projects. I have begun to plan my outfits around the classes I have each day, ripped jeans and leather jackets for my 3D class and skirts and blouses on the days I have art history.
Living in New York I am constantly inspired by the hundreds of Fashionistas/os I see walking down the streets on a daily basis and as such switching around my style keeps my closet exciting!
Can’t wait to continue this amazing journey this semester and hope to bring many of you along on the ride!
