My name is Wendy and I’m a freshman in the College of Business at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista and I’m thrilled to share my fashion finds with you all.
I’m infatuated with the arts—fashion, film and music. I can’t imagine life without these three elements. As much as I enjoy staying in bed and watching movies all day, I prefer exploring cute little cafés and record shops wherever I go. I get a sense of pleasure in adventuring and trying or seeing new things. To me, finding hidden gems or niches is such a beautiful feeling that cannot be beaten.
My style can be described as classic with an edgy offset. I like the contrast and clash in subtlety. I’m a frequent traveler and concertgoer and I tend to take inspiration from those experiences. Every city, country, band and artist has its own vibe and style that I incorporate and remix into my wardrobe. Concerts and airports are like second homes to me and they are where I actually feel like myself.
In my spare time, you’ll probably catch me talking about The Strokes and The Smiths, finding new bands to listen to, reading the latest issue of Nylon or idolizing Victoria Beckham and Alexa Chung.
It’s a new year; it’s time to take fashion risks and go on new adventures. I look forward to spotting stylish Fashionistas and Fashionistos around campus and I’m excited for all this year will bring!
