Hello Fashionistas! My name is Whitney Scasny and this is my first semester as a Style Guru. I am a junior at Illinois State University majoring in Public Relations. On a regular day you can find me listening to Jack Johnson and writing about what’s on my mind. I am a true wanderlust who loves hazelnut coffee, anything ocean/mermaid related and the Women’s Fashion category on Pinterest.
I have always admired people who dress to impress, and have plenty of embarrassing pictures of me in different outfits as a little girl. However, my strong passion for fashion occurred shortly after I began college. I was inspired by other Fashionistas who clearly also loved and appreciated a good outfit. I began dressing how I always wanted and started noticing a positive difference in my self-esteem. I guess you could say coming to college was one of the best things that could’ve happened to not only my wardrobe, but my confidence as well!
I believe there is beauty in all different kinds of looks and trends. Personally, my style differentiates day-to-day from boho, grunge and classy. Some days I prefer to dress like a stylish surfer girl in California (in my dreams) while others I channel my inner Audrey Hepburn. As far as shopping, you can find me spending hours at Forever 21, PacSun and Tilly’s.  When I feel that it’s necessary to do some splurging (my wallet hates me) Nordstrom, Steve Madden and Free People are always my go-to’s.
