Hi everybody! My name is Amanda Navarro and I’m so excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista this semester! I’m originally from sunny San Diego, but I am now living in Orange County attending California State Fullerton. I’m currently a senior majoring in communications with an emphasis in public relations.
The way you dress says a lot about yourself, which is why fashion is a great way to display your personality to the world. Blogging has always been a hobby of mine and that is why I am so excited to combine two of my favorite things—writing and fashion. Fashion is constantly changing. I love how you can change alongside of it to fit your mood.
People always say, “college is a time to find yourself.” With this being said, I look back on my life as a freshman to this more adult-like version of me, about to graduate from college. I believe much like my sense of style, I have changed just as much as my clothes have. I have made mistakes, learned from them, and am constantly trying to become a better version of myself.
Something I’ve learned from life is that less often means more. Sometimes it takes just the littlest detail to make a statement, which is what I try and apply to my style. A minimalist look can make quite the impact. For example, this look can be replicated with a simple classic leather jacket from Forever 21. Using a choker to complement the look will also give your outfit some interesting detail. And of course, my always favorite—the shoes. Old school Vans will give your fit an authentic speciality.
Every college has its own culture, and my hope is to give you some inspiration based on my take on both life and fashion. I’m looking forward to a super #RAD spring semester with you all!
