Hello my lovely Fashionistas! My name is Yasmin Rahimi, and I am currently a sophomore double majoring in marketing and fashion merchandising at the University of Georgia.
This is my very first semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista, and I cannot wait to explore the inner Fashionistas in my adorable college town. Fashion has been an important part of me for as long as I can remember. Juggling my love for self expression through fashion and school has been an adventure, but this incredible internship is allowing me to do the things I love all while studying for my intense classes.
In my free time, I love taking “artsy” pictures, editing pictures of all kinds and designing clothes I wish existed. My love for design has grown since I started college, and that is because I am working on this awesome thing called self love. Confidence is key in the fashion industry, and everyone deserves to show off their personal style no matter who’s watching! I’m currently attending a university where athletic shorts and oversized T-shirts are the typical #OOTD, and I have refrained from resorting to that level of comfort. I’ve always been my most happiest in a stripped T-shirt and ripped skinny jeans!
As an inherently creative person, completely out of place in my family full of doctors and dentists, I find inspiration everywhere I look. Coco Chanel, one of the first designers I came to love, once said “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”
