Good things come in threes, right? Well consider CollegeFashionista one of the best things I’ve had happen to me during my time at UConn. I’m so glad to be a Style Guru for the third semester in a row and I’m ready to bring more awesome looks to this growing fashion community.
I’ve seen a lot of trends come and go during my time as a Style Guru. Homages to the ‘60s and the ‘90s, monochrome, sporty-chic and the list goes on! I think my favorite trend I’ve seen on Fashionistas/os on campus have been monochrome. Entire outfits in dark colors, especially during last semester, looked so effortless and chic. Usually I wear patterns and lots of color, but I’ve decided to try my hand at the trend. Like anything in fashion, I’ve managed to find a loophole. Since I’m not used to a colorless outfit, I needed to find another way to make things stand out. As you can see above, mixing textures together like leather and suede bring personality to the outfit without straying away from the color scheme.
Since it’s my last semester at UConn, there are a lot of things I want to do and see before I graduate. I’m currently president of the fashion club, Project Fashion, and I would love to see the third annual spring show to be bigger and better. I’ve gained a lot of inspiration as a Style Guru and I’m ready to bring some of those ideas to the runway. I’m also still a member of the club rugby team. After two successful semesters, I’m looking forward to another undefeated season. With so much on my plate as a senior, I’m hoping to start on the right (and fashionable) foot and take you all along with me!
