Hi, I am Ziyan Liao.
I’m currently a junior at Boston University and I’m majoring in public relations. I love fashion, traveling, food, and cinema. I always hang out with my friends in every corner of Boston—I love the classic vibe here.
I like arts, so I usually go to Museum of Fine Arts to see the various pieces from different artists. I especially love to explore the variations of different shapes. No matter if it was a rock or a piece of paper, they can always be turned into something with a special structure. So for clothes, I like to see how the art of clothes can reconstruct the shape of human body, and my favorite designers are Christophe Lemaire, Yohji Yamamoto, Raf Simons, and Jonathan Anderson. They are all masters on reconstruction of human body shapes.
I like to live a simple life. I am an utter minimalist. To me, less is more. Therefore I always want to keep only the most essential pieces in my closet. I object to the idea that you need to buy everything that you like. I believe that each pieces in my closet should be the “one and only” piece and make no repetitions. Same for accessories. I love to collect accessories with unique shapes and colors and they should not replicate each other.
Even though I love minimalism, I’ve always tried to expand my knowledge on aesthetics to a larger category. I believe the form of beauty is diverse and therefore I came here and I would love to exchange my ideas of aesthetics with you guys.
