All hail the early 1970s, taking a step back in time to an earlier period when legendary rock star Jimi Hendrix and the renowned “Love Story” actress Ali MacGraw made the scene. The new Gucci spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection captures and represents both of their styles like a dream, yet with a modern contemporary twist. From suede to silk to full on jean outfits, Gucci was not shy to express their fashionable spin on the 1970s. Gucci emphasized and showed off the vintage look without a glitch, combining style and impeccable quality. Each look was something distinctive, but of course as expected always flawless. Gucci took the use of fabrics like suede, jean and silk to a whole new level in developing this new exciting line. On the runway there were fashionable silk shirts, trendy suede skirts, chic jean dresses and much more. Gucci used colors like camel, red and green with patterns and some solid pieces to excite and draw attention to the line during this fashion show.
In this look I showed off my slant on the Gucci spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection. I grabbed a couple of my favorite pieces from my closet to combine and integrate together in order to come up with an inspired new look. I chose my newly purchased camel suede skirt from Nordstrom that can easily be dressed up or dressed down. Next I added a basic black halter top that can be used as a base to almost any outfit. I also sported my favorite light-wash denim jacket from Forever 21. To round it all out, I added some accessories. I went to my go-to black spiked cross-body bag, which adds a little edge as well as my simple black pair of ankle booties.
By combining all of these pieces, I ended up with a perfect Gucci spring 2015 ready-to-wear inspired look. This collection took a contemporary spin of the classic ’70s style to which I followed. This spring show has inspired me to rock all of my ’70s-inspired pieces!
