October is here, which means fall is here, which means fall styles are in full swing. If you can remember back in February during fashion week, or should I said fashion month, all the 2016-2017 winter looks were coming out. I scribbled them all down in my fashion journal and have been anxiously waiting to style the new looks and wear multilayer, comfy, trendy outfits. One thing I am absolutely ecstatic about right now is that one, ’90s looks are back, and two, dressing comfortably is incorporated with the new trends. Reading the article “This Fall Is All About Velvet” by Liana Satenstein in Vogue was the caramel on the apple. I am in the process of moving so my mom has been sorting through her closet, and let me just say, that woman would have been quite the Fashionista herself. I found clothes from the ’90s that are being worn on the runways right now. From Tommy Hilfiger overalls to Calvin Klein denim dresses, leather calf-high booties and yes, a velvet jumpsuit.
I fully embraced this outfit by channeling my inner Rachel Green, who I believe is every Fashionista’s favorite character in Friends. I paired this jumpsuit with a plain white T-shirt, a denim shirt and black leather ankle high boots. It could definitely be worn in other ways; for example, with a long sleeve, white collared shirt and white adidas sneakers or just with a pair of pointed toe pumps. It all depends on what shape the pant leg is, but there are many options. This outfit will definitely get some looks from people around you, but that just means you’re stepping outside of the norm and absolutely rocking something so you and so unique!
