Attention all. Blush is the new white, and I repeat, blush is the new white! Blush, as the resort 2016 trend report reports is the color of the season. I love the blush, neutral, yet structured look and so when Narciso Rodriguez came out with his resort 2016 line I couldn’t wait to translate this runway show into my own look.
I decided to take the delicate yet tailored looks from Rodriguez’s line and transform this into my outfit. To me, blush reminds me of a color I would wear on Sunday morning or one that I could wear when going on a summer low-key weekend trip. Although blush screams femininity and in some ways is a very delicate color, some monochromatic blush looks, as shown by Rodriguez, can really transform this color into a bold statement. I am obsessed with blush because blush instantly adds another dimension of elegance and softness to an outfit.
I decided to play with an all blush look and so, today I put together this simple, yet interesting outfit that plays with the sharp and smooth characteristics of this color. The dress I am wearing is the Bramwell Dress by Babaton. This dress, made from a semi-sheer silk fabric, is probably one of the most feminine pieces currently in my closet. Nevertheless, I love it! I paired the dress with a flowy, but structured tuxedo-inspired vest by 2%. These two pieces together complement each other by adding fluidity to the look with a little bit of structure. I complete my look with a pair of blush colored suede, black ankle strapped platform shoes.
Get My Look: 1. A breezy summer dress. 2. A tailored long vest. 3. Nude sandals.
