The tank over T-shirt trend has appeared in numerous runways shows recently including Ida Klamborn, Whyred, Maison Margiela and Valentino. Its popularity is booming, as we see it appear on A-list celebrities such as the Kardashians and Gigi Hadid. Recently, undergarments such as lingerie are becoming more apparent as outer garments, a unique way to pair the trend. With this in mind, think about throwing on a lace or silk camisole over your T-shirt for a texture contrast and an fail-proof way to look stylish.
In Indiana the month of August means muggy, hot weather. That’s the reason I decided to pair a solid scoop neck white T-shirt with a black lace spaghetti strap tank top. The black and white with the different fabrics helps create more of a distinction. I went for DIY distressed cut-off shorts from the thrift store to add a little substance to this minimal outfit. This look wouldn’t be complete without accessories. Like most of my chokers, this one was a DIY made from scrap of black fabric. Recently, I haven’t left the dorm without a choker in hand; it’s become a staple in my fall 2016 attire. To complete the look I grabbed a pair of thrifted, velvet booties. I would suggest sticking with minimal accessories to enhance the top, tank combo.
This trend a lazy girl’s girls dream, throw it on and go. The best part of the look is most pieces needed to create it are probably already in your wardrobe. Aside from being super easy to achieve, it is also really comfortable for a variety of weather. I also love the fact that this look is simply an inventive spin on classic pieces.
