There is no doubt that halter dresses are b-a-n-a-n-a-s. This type of silhouette is extremely flattering on everyones body type and is easy to transform from casual to dressy depending on how you style it.
I have always been a big fan of halter dresses, especially when they were a huge hit during spring 2015 fashion week. I have always felt that halters give off the impression that you put more effort than you actually did into your outfit and the silhouette really complements woman with broad shoulders, like myself. For this outfit, I was inspired by Salvatore Ferragamo’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear show, because his main focus was on breezy halter dresses in neutral colors.
I was able to transform this look into my own by shortening the length of the dress and opting for a neutral shade that made my green eyes pop. I also wanted to use a pair of my fall or winter booties so I could get more wear out of them before the weather starts getting too hot. The dress calls for a bit more dimension, so I added a layered necklace from Free People which helped to contribute some extra color and edge.
If you want to dress up the outfit, switch the booties out for a pair of brown strappy wedges. Take off the necklace and change into a pair of gold statement earrings. I would also tie your hair back into a loose messy bun to really achieve an elegant, yet effortless look.
